Dog Walk FAQ

Please reach us at carolinespetconcierge@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Walks are typically 20, 30, or 45 minutes depending on your selected service.

Walks are private to ensure safety, focus, and personalized care.

Your dog’s safety is our top priority. Walks may be adjusted, shortened, or modified based on weather conditions to prevent unsafe exposure.

Tip: Before booking your pets walk, check the weather.

  • If rain is expected, we recommend a drop-in visit for indoor play and enrichment.
  • If extreme heat is expected, please schedule for an early morning when the air and pavement are cool. For your pets safety, mid-day walks are not recommended.

Hot weather guidelines:

  • 85°F–90°F: Walks may be shortened with increased water breaks
  • 90°F+: Walks are limited to quick potty breaks and shaded areas
  • 95°F+: Outdoor walks are replaced with brief potty breaks and indoor enrichment (if possible)
  • Pavement temperature is always considered to prevent paw burns

Cold weather guidelines:

  • Below 40°F: Walks may be shortened depending on breed and tolerance
  • Below 32°F: Limited outdoor time; focus on quick potty breaks
  • Extreme cold/wind chill: Walks may be replaced with brief outings only

Additional Safety measures:

  • Walks adjusted for humidity, wind, and sun exposure
  • Water provided before, during, and after walks
  • Close monitoring for signs of overheating or discomfort
  • Owner preferences and pet-specific needs always considered

*Pavement temperature and sun exposure are always assessed before walks to prevent paw injury and overheating.

Absolutely—water is refreshed after every walk, and we also bring water along during the walk to keep your dog hydrated.

Basic reinforcement (no pulling, good behavior) is included, Caroline's Pet Concierge does not offer training services.

No—dog walking is a separate service to ensure dedicated time for exercise and enrichment.

  • Pets must be up-to-date on all required vaccinations (documentation required)
  • Pets must be on active flea and tick prevention year-round (documentation required)
  • Dogs must wear a properly fitted harness for all walks and outings
(Collars are used for ID tags only, including rabies and identification tags)
