Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at carolinespetconcierge@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We manage the preparation process for your pet’s international travel. This includes planning timelines, coordinating veterinary requirements, reviewing documentation, researching airline and transport options, and ensuring your pet is fully prepared and delivered to your chosen provider.

No. We prepare your pet for travel and provide local transportation to your selected airline or pet transport company. Once your pet is checked in, the airline or transport provider assumes responsibility.

No. Although we commonly support military families, our pet travel concierge services are available to all clients who require structured, high-touch travel preparation and coordination.

(Destination dependent)

We assist in preparing the following pets for international travel:

  • Dogs and cats
  • Ferrets
  • Rabbits and small mammals
  • Birds (non-poultry species)
  • Select reptiles and exotic pets (case-by-case)

Not Currently Supported:

  • Livestock or farm animals
  • Poultry species (chickens, ducks, etc.)
  • Animals requiring commercial export permits

As early as possible. Many international destinations have strict timelines for vaccines, testing, and documentation. Ideally, you should begin 2–4 months before your move.

If your timeline is tight we will assess your timeline immediately and identify what is feasible. If requirements can still be met, we will guide you through an expedited plan. Rush service fees may apply.

Yes. We coordinate all required veterinary appointments to align with your destination’s travel requirements and timeline, including transportation to and from each appointment. We also review documentation for accuracy with your veterinarian and guide you through all required forms and submissions to help reduce the risk of delays or denied entry.

No. We research and present options, including airlines and pet transport companies, but the final booking and payment are handled by you.

We recommend airline-compliant crates and required travel items. For premium service, we can coordinate ordering, delivery, and full setup of your pet’s travel crate. This includes assembly, installation of required accessories (food and water containers, bedding), proper labeling, and ensuring everything meets travel requirements prior to departure. Crate setup is included at no additional cost.

Yes, we provide local transportation to and from veterinary appointments and to your selected airline or transport provider. We do not provide long-distance or international transport.

We offer overnight care and check-ins to ensure your pet is safe, comfortable, and ready for their scheduled travel date.

If overnight care is unavailable with your assigned concierge, we will arrange care with a qualified sitter on your behalf. We will remain responsible for coordinating your pet’s travel day, including pickup and transportation to your selected airline or transport provider.

Our service does not include third-party costs such as veterinary fees, airline or cargo fees, transport company charges, shipping costs, or the purchase of travel equipment.

Our role is to minimize that risk by ensuring requirements are followed carefully. While we guide and review every step, final approval decisions are made by airlines, government agencies, and transport providers.

If your pet is unable to travel due to restrictions or timing, we can point you toward trusted resources such as Dogs on Deployment, which helps military soldiers and families find temporary foster care.

You can begin by submitting an inquiry or scheduling a consultation. We will review your timeline, destination requirements, and pet details, then recommend the best service package for your situation.
